We are a 6 piece alternative/rock & roll band from Delhi/NCR (India):-

The Aphids is a breed of passionate,insane and extremely dramatic friends/brothers cum music lovers who have put their lives, relationships, careers and other social baggage’s at stake for just 1 goddamn feeling.Our love for Rock and Roll.

When our days are good, we celebrate by making music. On bad days we tend to kick the pain causing neurons out of our system by making some more music.

We all have had different tastes of life and music and are always ready to explore ourselves to newer boundaries in both. We really love what we do and that is the reason we do what we do. We love, try and hope to find art in every form and in everything from lord Shiva to music to nature to sky to women. It all reflects art. They all reflect feelings. They all are wonders. I guess, We are just an Association of People hoping to Immortalize dope and seduction through our music. Dope which is nothing more than the purest form of Lord Shiva in your soul. Seduction, a gift every women wants his man to have and every man who truly loves a women has.

The Aphids originally formed by Vinu George in 2009 was an enormous success throughout Delhi and Jaipur. The songs like Pump it Up and I can see everything were loved by people everywhere who later became their fans. But due to unforeseen circumstances, the band drifted apart and their music journey came to a halt in Oct 2010. And after almost a year of hardships Vinu George again started working towards his dream project and in Oct 2011, The band was joined in by 3 new members . Harry on vocals/lyrics, Adarsh on lead guitar and Sanyam on bass and the band played superbly but it could never be a band. Luck wasn’t favoring the band at all. Everywhere they played hard, things just wouldnt go in their favor and after Nagaland, Adarsh the Magic boy and Sanyam (gumy bear) decided to work on their own project called Madhouse.

I had to stay back at my hometown while coming back from Nagaland. I wasn’t even there but when I got back to Delhi with the news and money for the gig in Varanasi, Vinu shocked me.

Shit happens. But then how do we manage the performance in Varanasi?

Anyways so the date is 17th of Jan (2012). The first day we met and jammed and the feeling was really good. Maybe it was all meant to be. Maybe God wants us to be together. Maybe coz the results were AWEsome…

Also since Oct 2011 we’ve started our journey to the other side with 2 new originals Blind & Beer and Bong. The songs have been loved and appreciated by the audience everywhere performed.(and most of them weren’t even drunk). We never try to be left unloved by our audience.

Moral of the story: THE APHIDS is an alternative rock & roll band living for freedom. Freedom of speech and existence. Freedom from commitments when you don’t even want to commit and freedom from lies that you need to tell to survive within your house. Freedom from the chains of responsibilities and unnecessary demands which we could only cater to if we kill our dreams and live a life they want us to lead. Freedom to be with the one you really want. Freedom to love. Freedom to be respected even when you do your own thing. Freedom to feel life in every form. Freedom to make a choice. And Freedom to choose the right thing. Freedom to choose your own GOD.
